Susan Obrecht Riehl
Principal, Obrecht-Riehl Properties

Susan grew up in the commercial real estate industry. Her father built Maryland’s first industrial park. She began her professional career in the family’s commercial real estate firm.

A graduate of Garrison Forest School, Susan earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing, magna cum laude, from the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond in 1983.

After college she became a partner with her four brothers in P. Fred’k Obrecht & Son. The company managed, leased and oversaw construction of approximately two million square feet of office, retail and warehouse space annually.  The development transactions the firm spearheaded during her tenure with them exceeded $100 million.

During this same period she was an associate broker at the Baltimore firm of Casey & Associates, Inc. (now Trammell Crow Company), specializing in sales and leasing of commercial and industrial real estate.

In 1997 Susan founded Susan Obrecht Riehl Development Corporation and in 2001, John joined the firm which became Obrecht-Riehl Properties. Susan is Principal of the firm, responsible for managing, marketing, consulting and developing more than one million square feet of office, retail and warehouse space annually.

After graduating from St. Paul’s School in suburban Baltimore, John attended Loyola College. In 1979, he began his real estate career as a Property Manager for his grandfather, Henry J. Knott, Sr. The Knott organization owned and managed approximately 10,000 apartment units as well as numerous shopping centers and office buildings.

He joined MacKenzie and Associates, a commercial real estate firm, as a marketing representative for office, industrial and retail properties in 1984.

In 1988 John joined P. Fred’k Obrecht & Son as Vice President of Marketing and Management, overseeing a commercial real estate portfolio of about two million square feet.

John left Obrecht & Sons in 1992 to become a Partner in Riehl Estate Management Company, a full service commercial real estate firm. He managed, leased and financed multi-family and retail properties.

In 2001 he and Susan, founded Obrecht-Riehl Properties. As a Principal in the firm, John is responsible for marketing, leasing, consulting and developing more than one million square feet of office, retail and warehouse space annually.

Robin DeMarco

Robin DeMarco joined the staff of Obrecht-Riehl Properties in November 2005. Her attention is focused on the growing property management division of the organization. Tenant relations, cost-effective expenditures and maximizing property values are her fundamental goals for this operation. She also assists with the purchase of new properties from settlement to marketing the project.

Ann Burke

Ann Burke joined Obrecht-Riehl Properties in August 2007 as Office Manager.  She brings a wide range of skills to this position in administration, marketing, public relations and accounting.  Ann is responsible for the day to day operations of the office.

Sandra Prushansky

Sandra Prushansky became affiliated with Obrecht-Riehl Properties in April 2004. Ms. Prushansky is an administrative assistant and performs secretarial duties on a part-time basis. Sandy's duties include assistance to the entire staff in all real estate and personal functions.

Denise Green

Denise Green joined our staff as a part-time Administrative Assistant in January of 2008. She comes to us with a background in property management, accounting, marketing and real estate.  Her responsibilities include assisting staff members with all aspects of administrative duties.
